Lakers star Christian Wood buys his mother ‘the house of her dreams,’ fulfilling a ten-year promise

He achieved one of his most ambitious aims ever by surprising his mother with her dream home.

The Los Angeles Lakers’ players are off to a terrific start in the 2023-24 NBA season, having won the league’s inaugural in-season competition. The new month-long basketball series began on November 3 and concluded on December 6 in Las Vegas, with the Lakers defeating the Pacers by 14 points. In addition to bragging rights, each player on the winning squad received $500,000. Now, less than a month later, Wood is enjoying a more personal victory: purchasing the home he promised his mother before being signed by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2015.

After 10 years, NBA star Christian Wood buys his mom a house he promised her when he was 18 - Face2Face Africa  On January 1, the power forward announced on X, then known as Twitter, that he had finally been able to present his mother the keys to the house he purchased for her. He shared three photos of his mother at her new home and a video of the huge pool, as well as some happy words about the memorable occasion. “Life aim..I promised my mother at the age of 18, with no money, that I would get her the house of her dreams before I turned 30. Fast forward to present, and I have done just that!!! The athlete tweeted, “I love you.” His message received a lot of acclaim from peers and followers who joined in the important occasion with lovely remarks.

Some things are simply bigger than sports. “Congratulations, Wood,” someone else said. Although unsubstantiated, many people assume Wood bought the house with the prize money he got. Wood expressed thanks to his mother in 2021 via a compensated relationship with LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s Uninterrupted brand and New Amsterdam Vodka.

35 (@Chriswood_5) / X  “What’s up, Mom? It’s Chris. After ending another NBA season, I can’t help but recall the night in 2015 when I was passed over for the draft. “That feeling, like I was a failure,” he stated in a voicemail, according to Uninterrupted. “I like to reflect on that night from time to time because it helps me see how far I’ve come. It allows me to remain grateful to you for your sacrifice while also strengthening me for what is ahead.” He went on to say, “I went undrafted that night, and even after I got in, I was waived and moved around from team to team. Perhaps this would break some other players. Maybe they’ll give up. But you know I am not like that. “I always outperform myself when given the opportunity to show who I am in new situations.” He closed his statement by thanking his mother for always believing in him and his skills. “The road has been long, and there is so much more to go. But you know I’m improving every step of the way,” he remarked. “I just wanted to call and say thank you for always believing in me, especially that night when I didn’t believe in myself. “I love you, Mom.”
