Mystery of 3,800-Year-Old Skeletons Unearthed in Peru

Archaeologists have unearthed four skeletons in Peru’s Viru Valley. These bodies are about 3,800 years old. According to experts, among the four skeletons found are two children, one teenager and one adult. The location where these four bodies were found is believed by experts to have been a temple. The four bodies were buried in a reclining position, seemingly facing a mountain. Next to the four bodies, there were a number of other ancient artifacts such as stone pendants, snail shells, and pieces of pottery. The research team said that the four newly excavated bodies were buried in tombs dating back to when people in Peru built large structures such as pyramids. The fact that some of the deceased were buried in the temple shows that people living in what is now Peru once highly valued the sacred space of this religious structure. At the same time, studying the above bodies can help clarify the secrets of their lives as well as the burial methods, culture – history… of ancient civilizations.
