The Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson announced that a hamstring injury will keep him out of action for at least two weeks.

A bruise in his right thigh and various illnesses have caused Clarkson to miss four of the Jazz’s last eight games.

The Jazz gave an update on the guard’s health prior to their game against the New York Knicks.

Jordan Clarkson’s right thigh was swollen after he fell into the bleachers during Utah’s game against New Orleans on November 27. He continued to have hamstring pain after last night’s game against Oklahoma City. Further magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed that Clarkson’s right bicep femoris was strained. Another evaluation will be given to him in two weeks.

Clarkson’s Problems Clarkson has not been able to play since November 25 due to a hamstring injury. On November 25, he was absent from the New Orleans Pelicans’ season opener.

With just 10.5 points per game on average over his last four games, the guard shot 19% from three and 27% from the field. He finished the game against Oklahoma City with a team-worst -25 in 21 minutes.

With Clarkson’s injury the most recent in a string of setbacks, the Jazz will enter the 2023–24 season in poor health.

All-Star Lauri Markkanen missed eight straight games, second-year center Walker Kessler missed seven straight, and starting pitcher Clarkson missed at least eight games before getting reevaluated by mid-November.

With a 7-16 record, the Jazz are 5.5 games out of the final Play-In Tournament spot, which is tenth, and have the fourth-worst record in the Western Conference.
