Unveiling the Intriguing Story Behind La Voiture Noire

Bugatti’s unique supercar, La Voiture Noire, valued at $18.7 million, is poised to make its highly anticipated debut in the United States. Sold to an undisclosed male buyer, this one-of-a-kind masterpiece will grace the Concours D’Elegance in Monterey, California, a prestigious event held on the 18th fairway of Pebble Beach Golf Links. Tickets for this exclusive car show begin at $450.

Previously unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show in Europe, La Voiture Noire, which translates to ‘The Black Car,’ has captured the imagination of automotive enthusiasts worldwide with its unparalleled design and exceptional craftsmanship.

Rumors have been circulating regarding the enigmatic buyer of the Bugatti La Voiture Noire, which was purchased for a staggering $18.7 million based solely on a sketch. This one-of-a-kind hypercar has now become the most expensive new car ever sold. The Bugatti La Voiture Noire was showcased at the Chantilly Arts and Elegance Richard Mille event in Chantilly, France, in June. It is set to make its highly anticipated public debut in the United States at the Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance on Sunday.

The one-of-a-kind Bugatti La Voiture Noire has achieved a remarkable feat, becoming the most expensive new car ever sold at a staggering $18.7 million. Surprisingly, the buyer made the purchase decision based solely on a sketch provided by Bugatti, highlighting the hypercar’s allure and exclusivity.

This secretive transaction has garnered significant attention, with attendees eagerly anticipating the car’s appearance at the Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance. Tickets to view the hypercar start at $450, reflecting its extraordinary appeal among automotive enthusiasts.

Despite speculation, soccer sensation Cristiano Ronaldo was quick to dismiss rumors linking him to the purchase, refuting claims made by a Spanish outlet. The allure of the Bugatti La Voiture Noire continues to captivate the imagination of enthusiasts worldwide.

In May, Ronaldo’s spokesman refuted claims linking him to the purchase, stating to TMZ, “The story isn’t true. He has not bought it.”

Speculation about potential buyers has included boxer Floyd Mayweather, known for his extensive collection of luxury vehicles, including multiple Bugattis. However, some observers doubt Mayweather’s involvement, considering his tendency to flaunt his wealth openly.

Alternatively, there are reports suggesting that the supercar may be destined for Ferdinand Piech, the former chairman of the Volkswagen Group, Bugatti’s parent company. Bugatti disclosed that they approached a single buyer with concept sketches of the vehicle, and the customer immediately agreed to the purchase.

The distinctive feature of the six tailpipes on La Voiture Noire was actually suggested by the buyer’s wife, as disclosed by Bugatti.

Bugatti spokesperson Tim Bravo emphasized the company’s commitment to respecting customer confidentiality. He stated to CNBC, “As soon as a customer makes a public claim, then we can refer to that, but other than that we will honor a customer’s anonymity and he will decide whether or not he wants to remain anonymous.”

The only hint Bugatti provided regarding the buyer’s identity is that he is married, with his wife having suggested the design of the car’s six tailpipes.

Furthermore, the buyer will have the opportunity to fully customize the car’s interior according to their preferences, according to Bravo. During its appearance in Geneva, La Voiture Noire featured blacked-out windows, concealing an interior that is still under development.

The French luxury company produced only one prototype of the supercar, La Voiture Noire, as a tribute to the 110th anniversary of its founding.

La Voiture Noire is a contemporary reimagining of the iconic Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic, of which four were built between 1936 and 1938. While three of these classic cars are known to exist today, the whereabouts of the fourth, lost during World War II, remain a mystery. If found today, it would likely be valued at well over $100 million.

The one-of-a-kind Bugatti La Voiture Noire has made history as the most expensive new car ever sold, fetching a staggering $18.7 million from a secret buyer.

The uniqueness of La Voiture Noire is further emphasized by its comparison to the original Type 57 SC Atlantic, highlighting the modern interpretation alongside the vehicle that inspired it.

However, the car is not yet complete, and isn’t expected to be street-ready until 2021 at the earliest.

Although the car is thought to be the most expensive new car ever sold, there will likely be even more expensive classic cars at Pebble Beach on Sunday.
